Acrylic Artist: The Portrait Redefined

I am pleased to announce that my artwork is the Featured Story in the current issue of Acrylic Artist Magazine. The magazine is in art stores now, and hitting Barnes & Noble next week, I believe. However, if you would like to order a copy online, the publisher has it available both in print and digital download formats.
My painting of “Danielle” is on the cover, and there is a 12 page article written by Michael Gormley that covers my work, my process and includes critical analysis of about a dozen paintings of mine.

Coverage of the Sunnyside Annual Art Fair
The Sunnyside Post has an article up covering this past weekend’s Sunnyside Annual Art Fair.
The weather was great, there was a large turnout, and I was able to sell quite a few prints and smaller pieces. Thanks again to Sunnyside Artists for organizing such a fun event! We will definitely be back for the next one…

AMERICAN ARTIST: WATERCOLOR MAGAZINE STEP BY STEP ARTICLE
Hello, everyone!
In early 2011, AMERICAN ARTIST MAGAZINE approached me, asking if I might be interested in writing an acrylic portrait demo for their magazine. I was only to happy to oblige and thrilled at the opportunity.

CORA W. (6TH GRADE) INTERVIEWS MATT CAULEY
Back in Summer 2010, I was approached by a former co-worker of mine, with whom I’d remained good friends.
Her daughter Cora had been given the assignment to write a paper on any artist, and after discussing a bunch of possible candidates to focus on, she eventually chose ME to be her subject. Neat!
I was only too happy to assist and was able to meet the family one summer day around lunchtime. We discussed all sorts of art-related topics before brainstorming the interview. I can’t express how heart-warming the whole experience was, but I’ll let Cora take it from here.

PORTRAIT PAINTINGS FEATURED IN AMERICAN ARTIST MAGAZINE
Hello everyone –
Be sure to head over to your local bookstore or newsstand and pick up the latest issue of American Artist Magazine. It includes a six page article regarding my recent portrait paintings, covering everything from the painting technique to the materials used, and there’s even a little Batman thrown in for good measure. I couldn’t be happier with the layout (I even get a mention on the cover!) and I’d especially like to give a huge round of thanks to world-famous artist John Parks for writing such a wonderful article!
