Bloomberg Link — LATAM Investing Conference Signage
The Bloomberg Latin America Investing Conference gives global investors insight into opportunities throughout Latin America and takes an in-depth look at strategies for foreign investors in Brazil, Mexico and the Andean countries. Topics include debt strategies, how the European debt crisis is impacting Latin America, the outlook for growth and inflation throughout the region, the future of energy and China’s influence in this sector, opportunities in private equity and M&A, how to assess the evolving political environment, currency strategies, and how investors are allocating their portfolios to Latin America.
I was approached to create event signage for a financial conference, highlighting several past and current Latin American political leaders.
The deadline was extremely tight. I was able to take on the project and pitched to them various approaches on how to handle the visuals. Luckily, I was able to talk them out of their initial request for cartoon style web banners and I instead instead a series of expressive vibrant portraits that incorporated the Bloomberg Link corporate palette, thus making the paintings on-brand. The problem was I had then committed to create EIGHT 20″ x 30″ portraits in under a week. By the time I got the full go-ahead, I had 3 days from start to finish.
As it turns out, I was able to create all of these portraits in the given time period, and once approved I digitized the paintings and used the artwork across a variety of banners and promotional materials for the event. The client was so happy with the work created for the posters they requested to have the original artworks framed and hang directly inside the main reception area for the event itself. We were given additional budget, so I repurposed the designs for public-facing banners on the exterior of the event building. Even better, the artwork traveled to additional LATAM Conference events in Rio de Janeiro and Mexico that year, so the artworks became part of a traveling showcase.
I would like to thank the powers that be at both Bloomberg and Bloomberg Link for allowing me this opportunity and offering their full support at every step of the process.
