Living Dead Dolls Halloween Art Show

Halloween, there couldn’t be a more appropriate night to debut the first-ever Living Dead Dolls Art Show. The internationally anticipated show premiered October 31, 2006 at New York's famous designer toy gallery "The Showroom NYC". Previously, all Living Dead Dolls have been designed by Ed Long, Damien Glonek and Michael "Mez" Markowitz; this art show invited over 100 artists to design, interpret and explore their own dark vision of the Living Dead Dolls.

Apparel Illustration

I was approached by Macy's department store to contribute artwork for their GREENDOG brand of children’s apparel. These were exclusive to Macy’s, aimed at boys from age 3-12, depending on category. I would be presented with a general concept such as illustrate a “dinosaur combined with vehicle,” for example, which I would interpret and present back to the art director. Other concepts included "animal in an occupation", or "varsity-themed animal". Sometimes the assignment involved video games, construction equipment, or sports and so on.

The assignments were intentionally vague and open-ended, so I was able to bring a lot of creative freedom to my own interpretations. I tapped into my own childhood memories, which helped inform the type of artwork I would have wanted to wear on my shirts if I were a child.

Presented here are examples of the designs I contributed over the years.

Corporate Illustration

Presented here is a small collection of the illustration work I produced while employed at Bloomberg LP.

A Clockwork Orange

During my senior year at Parsons School of Design, I began work on creating an illustrated version of A Clockwork Orange. What began as a photographic experiment of a 3 foot marionette with sculpted interchangeable heads expanded into an ongoing series of miniature paintings.

Presented here is a sampling of the work created.
